This past Thursday (7/7/11) I made my hometown comedic debut in Chet Wild’s Comedy Showcase at The Comedy Club in Rochester, NY…My big Irish Catholic family and very best friends were there. I got the seal of approval on my set from my two cousins that used to shoot hockey pucks at my head for fun. I was expecting them to be my biggest critics. Glad you liked it gentlemen, hope I made you smile
(inside family joke).
The crowd was great and I shared with them why I am not perfect…here check it out for yourself:
Do you really think that is what Casey Anthony said????
I was a little nervous prior to the set as my family was in the audience and my material touches on subjects like eating disorders, being Catholic and other very personal experiences…but I figured go big or go home and went for it, the response was awesome!
It was great to meet new comics. Everyone in the Showcase did a great job and was super-duper nice, but being away from Charlotte, NC for a week, I have started to miss my funny friends…it is a real ego boost to get hit on by a guy dressed in a chicken suit on a regular basis…heading home soon.
Growing up in Rochester, I really enjoy coming to visit, it is a lovely place that smells of white hots and garbage plates, I got a new twitter follower on my trip that has been very supportive: @zweigleshots (Follow them). I was able to enjoy the best hot dogs on the planet while playing golf this week, so I am happy they are a fan!
My Dress is by Calvin Klein. I have worn it before to a charity event in Charlotte, but, like the honey badger, I don’t care…the people of Rochester have never seen it before. Oh, and my pearls were fake this time.
Thank you so much to everyone that came out – I hope you had a great time!!!!
More Show Pictures…Thanks Bruce R. Forster photography for the first one:
